Maaruthi Medical Centre and Hospitals, popularly called as MMCH in Erode and other districts has been started on 28 th January 2002 at 564, Perundurai Road, Erode 638 011, though the hospital was functioning since 1995 at Brough Road, Erode 638 001, one of the popular commercial location in Erode. The hospital was started with 150 bed capacity and now operating with 300 bed strength from 2004.

LOCATION

Maaruthi Medical Centre and Hospitals is located at 564, Perundurai Road, Erode 638 011, one of the most renowned road of Erode for hospitals and other commercial activities of the district. This particular road and the location have many hospitals, popular medical agencies and retail outlets, popular laboratories and blood banks and other diagnostic centers which are mutually helpful.

AREA

The total area of the MMCH location is about 13,000 S. Ft and the hospital is positioned between the Government General Hospital of the District and the Collectrate of the Erode district and on the Coimbatore – Erode main road, the most popular and expensive area of the district.

INFRASTRUCTURE

MMCH building is about 70,000 S. Ft with a ground floor, an under ground level and five upper levels. The Ground floor and the under ground level has all the consultation rooms, waiting chambers, reception area, admission counter, treatment rooms, casualty, investigation block, administrative block, canteen, manifold room, counselling rooms, pharmacy, electrical, generator, maintenance rooms, housekeeping, main and sub stores, etc. The upper floors has theatre complex, super specialty block, critical care units like MICU, SICU, NICU, ICCU apart from the in patient wards. The inpatient wards are different cadres like general ward, Semi private, private, deluxe room, super deluxe and suits to accommodate all cadres of socio economic status.

STATUS

MMCH is merely a family partnership concern and the two partners are 1.Dr.M.N.Sadasivam and his wife 2.Dr.Nirmala Sadasivam.

PARTNERS PROFILE

Dr.M.N.Sadasivam is the Chairman of the center, having a rich experience in the field of medicine about 30 years and about 20 years in running the hospital. Apart from a popular ENT & Head and Neck surgeon in the district, he is being known as an able administrator of the multispecialty hospital.

Dr.Nirmala Sadasivam is the Medical Director of the center, having a very rich experience in the field of Infertility Medicine, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Clinical Sonology, Hytero laparoscopy and Interventional Ultrasound therapies which are very rare specialities for this region. Apart from Erode district she is one among the most popular Infertility Specialist in the near by district like Namakkal, Karur, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Coimbatore.

SERVICES

MMCH has 12 regular full time consultants and 10 regular visiting consultants. There are 7 visiting super specialists from various parts of our country on a monthly basis. We have about 150 employees, mainly technical assistants like nurses, pharmacists, laboratory technicians, X ray, C -Arm, ECG, Operation Theatre, Dental, ICU technicians. Apart from this team there is an administrative team, finance controllers, personal relationship officers, promotional team and well-designed house keeping team to deliver an admirable quality service.

MMCH has an turn over of about 85 % filling rate in the inpatient department and about 500 to 600 out patient turn over every day. The sub units of MMCH like Pharmacy, Biomedical Lab, Micro Lab, X ray Dept, Scan Unit, Physiotherapy Unit, Canteen, ECG, ECHO, TMT, HOLTER, Doppler, Weight reduction center are busy and having an impressive business turn over, as the O.P and I.P strength is good.

RECOGNISATION

MMCH is an ISO 9001:2008 certified hospital and it is the first of its kind in the district. It is an approved hospital by the central government (BSNL, CGHS employees) and the State government (Star group of Insurance companies). Apart from the government approved Insurance companies, MMCH is tied up with nearly 30 standard insurances organisation.

LIABILITIES

MMCH and a residential building were funded by Indian Overseas Bank of Periarnagr Br, Erode in 2002 and the loan was repaid completely and promptly before 2009.

ASSOCIATED BUSINESS

MMCH has few wind turbines near Dharapuram, a popular location for non conventional energy generation in Tamilnadu, for its usage and it is in the process of installing few machines every year.

MMCH has two more medical dispensaries which are meant for the super specialisation units.

FUTURE PROPOSALS

MMCH organization is planning to go for an expansion in the field of cardiology and cardio thoracic surgeries for the simple reason that there is only corporate competitive unit in Erode which is not affordable for a common man and our association with every State Govt. Health Scheme and all other Insurance schemes will yield an enormous number of cardiac patient population to our unit.

POSSIBILITIES

Association with all government schemes both central and state and almost all other private insurance organisations of our country and the goodwill as the hospital for economically weaker section for the past 15 years, will be helpful to our future endeavours.

CONCLUSION

Apart from the assured commercial viability of MMCH, it has a socio corporate responsibility in obtaining a disease free zone in our region. We will achieve this goal in the near future with the assistance from the channel partners like N.G.O’s, Social workers and the Nationalised financial Institutes, recognised insurance institutes and the Govt. Assisted Insurance Schemes.
